Happy birthday, Abby!

It was Abby at daycare's 4th birthday party today & she once again celebrated at Adventure Peak, an indoor play area in Edina. There is a 40-foot tall tree to climb in, tons of tube slides & just places to CLIMB everywhere! We went to Abby's party last year too & Porter loved it. Only HIS MOM was a little apprehensive & ended up climbing through the entire park with him! This time, what a difference a year makes! He & Abby just climbed & slide throughout the whole park by themselves. I actually lost sight of them quite a bit...but felt assured that they were big enough this year to handle it. Every once in a while, one would surface & soon after, the other one would appear. They were like two peas in a pod that day & what fun they had! They also have a big open gym area with cool scooters & a bounce house. FUN! FUN! What a great place! When we were leaving, Porter said "I wish I could have my birthday party here, Mama." Well my boy, you just might!

A reason to celebrate.

It was Nana & Papa's 40th wedding anniversary last weekend, so this weekend we decided to celebrate. Auntie Jessika & Juncle Jeff came up from Madison & we arranged to meet McGees (Bob & Kathy as well as Peter & Alisha & boys) at Como Park for a stroll through the zoo, a few rides for the kids & topped it off with a picnic dinner in the park. It was a beautiful September day & we all had a great time.

State Fair time! Our day in pictures...

We headed out to the MN State Fair today...the "Great Minnesota Get Together." We had quite a group this year, so we had to divide & conquer for most of the day, but we did still manage to have a whole lot of fun.

Today, Porter & I were getting on the elevator at the condo & he was carrying his Luke Skywalker doll. A lady who lives in the building got on the elevator with us & asked Porter who his doll was. Porter told her it was Luke Skywalker. She said, "Oh my grandson, Oscar really likes Luke Skywalker too." Porter got this very puzzled look on his face & said, "Oscar?"
"Is he green?"
The woman didn't understand at first so I quickly added that Oscar the Grouch on Sesame Street was the only Oscar Porter knows...
