Wake up, Eyes!
This morning when Porter was waking up, he said "Wait Mama...I have to wake up my eyes."

H2O
Today after naptime, the three of us headed to the nearby park to check out the kiddie pool. The cool thing about Minneapolis parks is that almost all of them have little wadding pools. Perfect for our favorite swimmer! He started out very shy & hesitant...as he often does...but after a few minutes, he was splashing around, jumping in & having a grand old time!
Oh yeah, we may have also run into the Ice Cream Truck while at the park...

This is Twins Territory.
These days, Porter is all about baseball & all about the Twins. Someone gave us this Twins jersey a while ago & it now fits perfectly & Porter loves it. He was so excited the first day he wore it to daycare...He said to his friend Lilah, "Hey Lilah, look at my new shirt!" She replied, "Oh, it's beautiful. I love it!" Conversations between two 3-year olds are the best. So in addition, to the Twins jersey, Porter also has his "batting gloves" which look a lot like his winter gloves...or they might BE his winter gloves. He loves to watch the Twins play on TV & always wants to wear/do what "the players" do. Twins. Get to Know 'Em.
HOT DOG!!
Tonight for dinner, we decided to walk to our favorite neighborhood hot dog place. Formerly Joey D's, now known as Chris & Robs, home of the Chicago-style hot dog! Since we don't get to "dine out" much these days, going to an actual restaurant was a real treat. They have a great outdoor patio & we had a great time. Cheers!

From the Mouths of Babes...
Tonight as I was putting Porter to bed, suddenly out of the blue (and without prompting, I swear!) he said "You're the best Mama in the whole world" followed by the biggest hug I think I've ever had. I don't know brought it on, but I don't care. I ATE IT UP! ATE. IT. UP.

Ella's Deli!
Porter & I drove to Wisconsin this weekend to help celebrate my Grandma & Grandpa Schultz's 68th wedding anniversary. The night before the celebration, we stayed in Madison with Aunt Jessika & Uncle Jeff. They thought it would be fun to take Porter to Ella's Deli, which is this great kid-loving restaurant I remember going to with my family growing up. Everytime we went to Madison, my sister & I begged to please please please go to Ella's Deli for dinner. There is so much cool art everywhere you look, hanging from the wall, the ceiling...all sorts of old fashioned games...a carousel outside. It's sort of like if Chuck E. Cheese didn't have anything electronic. The place hasn't changed much over the years & in fact, was pretty much like I remembered it. Porter loved it just about as much as I did.
